Flying with a Dragonfly

A dazzle of pirouetting dragonflies;

wings and bodies shimmer as

they dance above the pond.

Like precious jewels, rubies

emeralds and sapphires

were drawn here by the 

wind and storms from

far and distant

places.

A lovely little Ruby rests

upon a branch with her

gauzy wings outspread.

She's intent only upon being a

dragonfly; unaware of her 

surroundings.

Unconcerned

about the 

journey
ahead.

Sitting quietly like the Ruby

I feel my wings unfolding

How marvelous is this! 

This lovely little dragonfly

is teaching me 

how to

fly.
