The Blackest Dark
A sojourner, a wanderer; wondering
do I want to be a traveler in a
volatile universe that wasn't
made for human life
Do I really want to leave the familiar?
The blue dot and my kin and kind to
sail alone and out, to and through
to the Milky Way
Out to the sacred space - deep space
where the blackest dark abounds?
Out to the far gate of heaven
surrounded by celestial
seas and ethereal
stars
Do I want to journey through space where
there is no ground:
Do I want to be a solitary wayfarer
there is no ground:
Do I want to be a solitary wayfarer
exploring worlds beyond worlds
sailing the celestial sea which
Man calls the universe
Is this the final Nirvana; bliss,
Delight and peace - space
where darkness abounds -
where there is no sound
air No voices to hear
Alone in the blackest dark without
Memory: Is this the destiny?
The path beyond the Earth to be
a mote of dust in the sacred
The path beyond the Earth to be
a mote of dust in the sacred
dark amid the eternal
Stars?
