Flowering

Flowering

When I was an infant Life was all about me
there was no sense of Self; I cried and
fussed until I was fed

A child needs to be protected, cuddled, nurtured;
needs food to survive and love to thrive.  But
every child always needs more; so much more

A child’s journey through life is a labyrinth
a lifelong journey; learning never ceases

To know life and self the child needs to explore
to dream and hope: discover Self, purpose
and spirit.

I am an adult - now a great-grandmother
yet I'm always conscious there’s still
the child within.

Life is never dull or boring; it’s filled with twists
and turns - there’s always something more_
something exciting to discover; a mystery
to be unraveled

Life_ is the ultimate unwritten novel filled with
plots and scenes with twists and unexpected
turns,  and packed with mystery,
drama, and trauma.

Along my journey, I've discovered the rewards of
patience learned - self-responsibility. I've gained
a measure of wisdom through meditation
and reflection and now_ I've learned to
stay true to who I am:  I've learned to
value love, fidelity, and caring

I've learned that wisdom is an accumulation of
self-discoveries _ Bringing outer knowledge
inward to reflect and muse upon it until I
more fully understand.

Wisdom isn't gained in a day; no it unfolds like a
flower that opens its petals in the sun to slowly
reveal the life secrets I've always wondered
about
