As I sit and wait,
I think about the past,
as it is filled with hate,
this time it cannot last
The feeling of sorrow,
from bigotry we've faced,
hoping for a better tomorrow,
the ignorance to be erased
Times have changed,
fighting to be equal
the world rearranged,
a civil rights sequel
The story began with race,
this time its love, dreams
