Wisdom is Within

Wisdom is within

Wisdom is alive within

I didn’t know it as a child, in my innocence and naiveté,

my knowledge came with age, education, and experience.

As a child, I couldn’t have known or understood

what I know and understand today.

Of wisdom gained by experience

coming as I reached for the sun:  

like a seed pushing through

soil, like the tiny bird who

sang to me, he knows

how to migrate to

his nesting

ground

I have an inner wisdom

I just need to close my 

eyes and ears to 

distractions

to find my

direction

When feeling lost, needing inspiration

when I’m ready to hear, I open my

heart to hear the wisdom
