Life is Sacred

Walk softly on the warm earth, walk a narrow path;
go through the narrow gate, a beautiful
something is waiting.

Life is Sacred

On Earth, Men live and breathe
earth  floats like a mote
of dust in the galaxy

Men marvel at the rising and
the setting of the sun; the moon

The beauty is the stars in
the Indigo sky

Here is where we dream; where,
We live, love, and die, witness
A baby's birth, hear it's first
Cry_ listen to a mother sing
A sweet lullaby

There was a time when the holy ones
walked among us and the water
ran fresh and clear_ when the
fields were full of flowers
and the sound of honey bees

When the air was fresh and
clear_ when all life was
sacred

Man has drifted afar: How long
Can he shut his eyes, his ears
When did Man decide he no
Longer cared: It seems he
Forgotten his dreams

Forgotten his mother, father, neighbor
lover too: Forgot the soft rains
of spring_ of young children
running barefoot on the
grass on lazy summer
afternoons

Earth is where sacred things happen:

heaven is all around us_ but who will
re-awaken man - remind him
of this?  Man needs reminding
many times - in many
ways that  earth is
the place where
sacred things
happen

Out on the plains, the deserts,
the mountains and here_
by the water's edge
